The Impact Gathering is an annual event to inspire and mobilize Canadian leaders to do good, better.

As resources decline and technology disrupts the way we work and live, existing social problems are scaling faster than solutions and new problems are emerging. As leaders, we have a collective imperative to find new ways to collaborate and leverage current resources to address these challenges. This invitation-only gathering will explore cutting-edge models and innovations to help us solve Canada’s most pressing social issues.

In 2019, we will explore four areas of focus during breakout sessions, each of which will showcase examples and be led by transformative leaders:

Reverse Engineering Successful Unicorns: Discuss and evaluate the conditions that need to exist in order for social ventures in Canada to grow and succeed, leveraging examples of successful unicorns from across the border

Supercharging Corporate Impact: Discuss how corporations can think differently about engaging with the social sector for greater impact, leveraging examples of corporations thinking out-of-the-box and driving impact

AI for Social Good: Discuss the power and limitations of artificial intelligence in maximizing social impact, leveraging examples of how AI is being ethically used for social good today

Optimizing Capital Allocation: Discuss capital allocation and ways to maximize impact, leveraging examples of effective uses of capital through alternative vehicles and structures

On September 27th, 2018, leaders from across the private, social, and government, sectors convened in engaging dialogue over an afternoon and dinner gathering – the Centre’s first Impact Gathering. The conversation was electric as we connected over the power of collective impact and how we can collectively do good, better.

At LEAP | Pecaut Centre for Social Impact, we believe in a society where everyone has the opportunity to reach their full potential.

We catalyze large-scale social impact in health, education and employment by selecting, supporting and scaling breakthrough social ventures and unleashing the potential of collaboration.
