Our Impact

Impact Framework

LEAP’s theory of change focuses on collective social impact as a powerful means to address the significant issues and scope of needs faced by social ventures. This collective social impact approach invests in building human capital and networks to bridge the four levels: the social ventures, their beneficiaries, the cohort, and the sector at large.

SocialVenture

LEAP focuses on organizational change and strengthens internal capabilities by providing in-depth strategic and operational support, leadership coaching, governance, and funding to accelerate and scale each organization. We strategically leverage the expertise and assets of our network of private sector partners to amplify our support.

Impact

In 2021, LEAP enabled 3 social ventures to scale between 4- and 10-times growth. We also received more than $1 million of pro bono professional services from our sector partners and mobilized $3 million of funding for our social ventures including $2 million in COVID-related crisis funding.

Cohort

A cohort model facilitates peer-to-peer learning among the selected social ventures, creating opportunities for collaboration and partnerships that push the thinking forward in the sector.

Impact

In 2021 LEAP supported 20 leaders across the active ventures in our portfolio, holding a 3-day Foundational Masterclass, 16 virtual workshops and community calls focusing on strategic and technical supports.

Sector

By building a web of support across the private and public sectors, LEAP leverages the unique resources and expertise that can be garnered to address the issues immediately, while also creating new systems of working together to effect lasting change.

In 2021, we mobilized more than 2000 volunteer hours, and $3 million of funding for our organizations including $2 million in COVID-related crisis funding.

 SDGs

LEAP recognizes the complexities of variables that are involved in addressing Canada's most pressing social challenge. Aligned with our values, United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) inform the areas of progress LEAP and our social ventures are making towards a better future.
