Our work is inspired by the life and legacy of David Pecaut.
David Pecaut (1955-2009) was a visionary civic leader, city-builder, and corporate strategist. He had the organic ability to connect and convene leaders from diverse backgrounds and sectors to address complex social issues.
Our Centre continues his legacy of taking bold action for collective good.
A corporate strategist and civic entrepreneur, David was known for his visionary initiatives, and solutions-based approach to social issues. He led Boston Consulting Group Canada and was often regarded as “the greatest mayor Toronto never had”, being able to connect and convene different stakeholders around pressing issues facing the Toronto Region.
THE BEGINNINGS OF LEAP | PECAUT CENTRE FOR SOCIAL IMPACT
Inspired by the late David Pecaut, the Pecaut Centre was founded in 2012. Many experienced private and public sector leaders—alongside Boston Consulting Group—have been pivotal on our journey to catalyze large-scale impact in Canada. Through their efforts, the Centre has built a strong foundation that allows it to unlock top-tier expertise, attract smart capital, and unleash the power of collaboration to best support high-impact social ventures.
Our founding sector partners established the foundation for our work: Boston Consulting Group, EY, McCarthy Tétrault, Cossette and the Offord Group.
